DNA Alignment: Multi-user site license notes

As from 1 September 2006 you can order a multi-user site license. A single user license applies to one specific user. A multi-user site license allows all members of one organisation (institute, university, lab, company) in each of its premises within the same city (site) to use the software.

Technical notes:

You cannot run two versions or two copies of the software at the same time on the same computer.

The software installation (all software files including "DNA_Alignment.dat") must be copied into a unique directory for each user. Reason: The user's individual settings (e.g. display) are saved into the software directory, and temporary files and backup files are periodically written into this directory.

Warning: If the software is not copied (or installed) into a unique directory for each user, access of multiple users to the same directory would occur. This would mess up the other users' data and cause race conditions (software lock-ups etc).
