DNA Alignment Help | Notes on amino acid ami/rdf export to Network
The amino acid files required by Network calculations are:
-
*.ami - required for importing multistate amino acid data into the Median-Joining network calculation.
-
*.rdf - required for importing binary amino acid data into the Star Contraction calculation or into the Reduced Median network calculation. (However, binarised amino acid data should never be used as first choice.)
Important notes:
-
DNA Alignment 1.3 can save amino acid data in old multistate *.ami format, Network 4.5 multistate *.ami format, old binary *.rdf format, and Network 4.5 binary *.rdf format.
-
DNA Alignment 1.3 will save Network 4.5 binary *.rdf files without N's, but old binary *.rdf files may be saved with N's in columns of multistate characters. Why use binary rdf files?
-
DNA Alignment 1.2 and earlier versions: These versions of DNA Alignment save amino acid data in old multistate *.rdf format and old binary *.rdf format. The amino acid multistate *.rdf file must be manually renamed to *.ami before it can be imported into Network.
